At the end of the year before last, alizardescribed the creation of a local proxy server controlled by the Siri voice assistant. And yesterday a video appeared on Gizmodo, where a certain person under youtube-nickname Elvis Impersonator shows the work of the duet Raspberry Pi and Siri.
Thanks to the open-source proxy SiryProxy, several plugins to it ( link to Github) and a pair of i-os applications, it can instruct Siri: • open and close the garage (the image from the surveillance camera in the garage appears on the screen); • control home alarms • control the thermostat (i.e. the temperature in the house) • extinguish and light the house • turn on the TV.
The Next Web site provides a complete list of the equipment used: 1. Alarm panel Elk M1 Gold 2. Light Controller ISY99i Series X10 / Insteon 3. Trendnet IP cameras 4. IR controllers RedEye IP2IR 5. Raspberry Pi running SiriProxy on it 6. iOS device running Siri and MobiLinc HD and eKeypad Pro applications
