Update for Nokia 808 PureView: sending photos to Twitter from Gallery

I even thought about it for some time as a separate topic to write this news or add it as a comment to my previous post , also devoted to the Nokia 808 PureView, but still decided that it was better to write about it separately. An update has been received for the smartphone, which adds functionality to the Gallery for sending photos to Twitter. This is not a firmware update, it happens over the air through the Software Update application, which can be found among the default programs.

From the box, the functionality of the Nokia 808 PureView Smartphone Gallery allowed you to send photos to Flickr or Facebook. And in Flickr you can send full-size photos, even taken at 38 or 34 MP. Facebook naturally squeezes the photo on your own, but in any case, the image looks very good. The same situation with sending photos to Twitter. The image is compressed in size and weight. If the original photo weighs 2.6 MB (8.3 MP, PureView mode), then the picture sent to Twitter weighs 134 Kb. On the other hand, it must be admitted that for the Internet the quality of compression of the original photo on Twitter is quite acceptable. The original photos taken on PureView can remain for printouts, printing, or exhibition projects, which, I am sure, are still ahead.

HERE you can see the original image, and HERE the same picture sent to Twitter.

In my opinion, this is very good news. I think that now, using #PureView hashtag on Twitter, it will be possible to watch a good gallery of really high-quality pictures.
