Here I bring my thoughts about
my own translation article . Frankly, at first I just wanted to respond to Daniyar’s comment, but then I began to notice that the input field for my text was becoming rather small, and indeed, I have something to say on this topic :) This post was born.
In Russia here, as, indeed, in everything, has its own specifics. Many stores operate at the “tent at the crossroads” level and do not even think about creating a web-representation. Others, for example, sellers of computer equipment and home appliances, have long recognized the benefits of a price list on the Internet. Also note that now any company that can afford outdoor or paper advertising, ranging from poor leaflets in the mailbox, ending with a shield on the subway or on the highway, is always attributed to the site in advertising. Well, at least the second-level domain on the free narod.ru, but attributes.
With all this, nobody, even large retailers, practically does not make gestures toward
real-tying inventory accounting systems with the Internet. Everything is limited to the fact that a catalog of everything that has ever been or will be on sale falls out on the Network (on its website or on a price.ru type system), and the buyer has to make systematic telephone calls to clarify the actual availability of the right product. So, all that is done in this direction is nothing more than the beginning of a journey.

Is there any prospect for those who decide to engage in the described type of business in Russia? Certainly there. First, the attendance of the Internet in Russia is growing every month. Therefore, the Internet as a channel to attract customers is constantly adding its value. In addition, in many developed regions (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, etc.), the search for certain categories of goods (the same computer components) in
most cases is performed first on the Internet. Secondly, competent work with the client, conveying a clear idea of the possible benefits from using this service will allow you to find a significant number of clients. You can start your sales pitch, for example, with this. “If the buyer knows that there is always up-to-date information about the availability of goods in your online catalog, what company will he start searching for when he decides to buy his next product?” Well, finally, the payment model of the service will add value to the offer: you do not need to bear large expenses right away; you only need to pay annual fees, comparable to the price of regular paper advertising.
Anyone wanting to try? :)
