Trolleybuses or “we protect the environment”

In many cities, these baleen droning cars drive in which it is colder in winter than on the street, which go badly uphill, to which all car owners swear because of their slowness, but ... the city authorities boast their ecological value for the city.
The search for information on the issue of its environmental safety yielded almost no results. In most European countries, trolleybus lines have ceased to exist, is it time we stop using them? Or vice versa - the whole world does not understand anything in ecology and fuel economy?
