TeleGeography Worldwide Highway Map

The updated map of Internet backbones from TeleGeography has been released. It shows 244 cable systems. Also on the map are infographics of ping, bandwidth and the history of the network, which originates in 1997. Some details from the company's blog + highres for printing are under the cat.

Inspiration

The guys write that they were inspired by this vintage card, including the starry sky maps. The map view was collected from many sources, including Maury's New Complete Geography, released in 1921.

Information component

The map shows 232 used highways, and 12, which are scheduled for commissioning in the near future. Also on the map are the connection codes.
