Changing the conditions for connecting servers to the Internet

Headline:

- increase the guaranteed channel by 10 times to 100 Mbps for each server;
- the ability to switch to the traffic accounting scheme on the account, and not on the server (when renting 10 or more servers);
- connection of hosted servers and servers of arbitrary configuration to the Internet at a speed of 10 Gbit / s.

From the very beginning of the provision of rental services and placement of dedicated servers, a guaranteed 10 Mbit / s channel was included in the price. Judging by the statistics, this speed is still enough for most servers, but the power of servers and their capabilities continue to grow, and traffic is significantly shifted towards “heavy” online media and the channel becomes a limiting factor even for small projects.

Selectel’s main priority has always been to provide quality services at a reasonable price. From February 1, the standard 10 Mbit / s band for all leased, hosted servers and servers of arbitrary configuration increases to 100 Mbit / s.

Unlike many competitive offers, the band is guaranteed, without any ratios and restrictions on the volume of traffic.

Also, from February 1, for customers with 10 or more servers, it will be possible to switch to the band accounting for the account. The band from all servers from the account is summed up to 1 Gb / s and is available for use by any servers in arbitrary proportions.

This scheme will allow customers to not worry about monitoring the band on specific servers and centrally buy additional band on the account. Due to this, it becomes possible to use front-end back-end architectures with several redundant front-end / balancers without overpaying for the unused band of backup servers.

Hosted servers and arbitrary configuration servers can now be connected to the Internet port at a speed of 10 Gbit / s. The connection itself and the cross-connection are free. Only the band is paid for one of the existing schemes (per server or per account). In the case of a hosted server, a 10 Gbit / s network card is required.
