I like Last.fm very much, its recommendation service: you listen to something that you would not have dug up on any music servers. But the trouble is that you won’t take the “last radio” with you: either you are sitting at the monitor, or you find out what the service advises you, and then you search on the Internet and download from where you have to your player. Neither one nor the other suits me - I want to listen to last-eff-em right in the player.

Think not real? By no means! And these are not empty words - I personally organized mobile Internet radio in my car. For this, I connected a laptop to a Skylink modem using EVDO technology. We launch the connection, open the website Last.fm (or the corresponding application), type in the search bar your favorite group: done! Works great. I tested the system on my way from home (Kuntsevo) to work (Voykovskaya). I traveled both along the central highways and industrial zones. An hour the way the radio only stuttered twice for no more than a couple of seconds. So we can assume that the test is passed.

But carrying a laptop is a pleasure below average. Solves the problem of the smartphone from "Skylink", running on Windows Mobile 5.0 (http://skylink.ru/pages/equip.aspx?id=14288&r=77). Last.fm has a plugin for this OS. It is a pity that the device is not yet sold. Let's wait - no problem. The problem is different - the cost of traffic goes beyond the reasonable limits.

The test showed that the speed of Last.fm on average 1 MB / min. If the hour is for work, and the hour is back, 120 MB is obtained. In a month - more than 2 GB. With such volumes, it is most profitable to take an unlimited tariff, but it costs ... 2800 rubles! Yo-ho-ho ... Pay for 120 radio a month for radio? Yes, I spend less on gasoline (I generally keep quiet about the exorbitant price of equipment and connection to Skylink).

So I thought: how much will the average user be ready to give for mobile Internet radio? For myself, I will say that I do not mind the 20 euro / month. Give birth to a "skink" such a service, things would have gone uphill. It wouldn’t have gotten worse, because there’s no worse. And the power of “Skye” due to the “brilliant” marketing policy is so idle. So why not take a ruban out of the shoulder like “Stream”: the user paid 20 euro per month - and at least turn around? They are some strange, by God, for nothing, that in one "System" ...
