Good afternoon (MSC-time), Habravchane! Last week was kind of overcast, and I was in such a bad mood that Rozetked and I decided to review two relatively new Kindle Fire HDs. Joke. For a long time I wanted to know what the novelties from Amazon are and a few days ago the Kindles came to our office.
One by 7 inches, the second by 8.9. Both devices are seated in a soft-touch case: they get very dirty. Extremely strong. Nevertheless, the overall design and the screen in each of the models leads us to believe that Amazon engineers spent a lot of time working on the models, since they look premium to life. The only thing that disappointed is the lock button - it is so unfortunate that it seems that the designer overeat LSD and without thinking said: “Brilliant! Will be here! " ')
And may I, embraced by the emotions of body coherence, turning on Fire HD, be overwhelmed by the meagerness of the OS. Inside the device sits a remake of Android 4.0.3, and really nothing really remains of Android. To put it bluntly, the Kindle Fire shell is tied to money and American culture. You can’t do anything without buying a movie, a book or a game, but you can’t buy anything if you don’t have an American credit card. Yes, and Gift Card here is not provided. Fortunately, any apk-files from the browser or mail are set up without problems, but you still have to hack the Kindle to install the cache.
How to crack the new Kindle Fire HD has already been invented, Russification is also there, but still there is not a single custom firmware, and it's sad. Judging by the experience with the very first “light”, there is potential in tablets from Amazon, since Android 4.2 on the original model works very fast and without pitfalls (I personally held it and was convinced of this).
Kindle Fire HD prices are:
HD 7 16GB: $ 199 ($ 214 with ads disabled) HD 7 32GB: $ 249 ($ 264 with ads disabled) HD 8.9 16GB: $ 299 ($ 314 when advertising is disabled) HD 8.9 32GB: $ 369 ($ 384 with ads disabled) HD 8.9 32GB + 4G: $ 499 ($ 514 when advertising is disabled) HD 8.9 64GB + 4G: $ 599 ($ 614 when advertising is disabled)
Only 6 models, and the ability to disable advertising. The fact is that cheaper models on the lock screen when connecting to the Internet show ads. With each new press of the power button, a new advertisement will be shown. This can only be disabled by paying $ 15 to Amazon’s treasury.
Conclusion: Kindle Fire HD (any) is worth buying for such a small amount of money, but it is worthy only if you upgrade to the original Android 4.2.
PS For those who still use Kindle Fire 1-gen without Android 4.2, I advise you to reflash without hesitation. Link
