Update for Lumia to Windows Phone 7.8 released

Starting today, the update starts shipping for smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5 to OS Windows Phone 7.8.
The following models will receive an update: Nokia Lumia 610, 710, 800 and 900.




What will be included in the update:

• Updated start screen - the working screen will become wider due to the placement of tiles similar to Windows Phone 8, the tiles will receive three sizes;
• New applications that extend the functionality - the applications “Transfer via Bluetooth”, “Creator of melodies”, “Transfer of contacts”, “Nokia City” will be added;
• New features - the application "Counters" to control the consumption of traffic, SMS and MMS, new color themes in the settings - 20 against 11 in Windows Phone 7.5;
• New photo opportunities - “Lived photos” will allow you to create animated photos, “Photobeamer” - show your photos on the screen of another device connected to the Internet;
• Internet distribution with the Internet Sharing feature;
• Dynamic Bing wallpaper on the lock screen;

Starting from today until the end of February, you will receive a message about the availability of Windows Phone 7.8. It is enough to connect the phone via Zune to the computer and follow the instructions on the screen.
The update will be distributed in waves, the delivery of the new software version may take up to 3 weeks.
