On August 14, 2006, the registration of the participants of the 4th international competition for data coding
Google Code Jam 2006 began . One hundred best contestants who have shown decent programming skills will win a free trip to New York to participate in the final. It will take place on October 27 at Google’s engineering center.
“During the Google Code Jam competition, talented and fastest programmers from all over the world have an amazing opportunity to get together on the same platform and compete with each other,” said Alan Eustace, senior vice president, engineering, Google. “Our company is proud to be able to support the coders who have amazing abilities; they take to solve some of the most complex world problems in the field of programming. We are happy that we have a chance to present them to our team, which brings together researchers and developers from Google offices in different countries of the world. ”
But not only one trip to New York will be finalists. They will share among themselves a prize fund of $ 155,000:

1st place: $ 10,000
2-10 places: $ 5000 for each finalist
11-25 places: $ 2500 each finalist
26-50 places: $ 1000 each finalist
51-100 places: $ 750 to each finalist
Registration for the Google Code Jam contest will end on September 5th, the qualifying round will take place on the same day.
Recall that last year more than 14,500 programmers from 32 countries participated in the Google Code Jam competition, and the winner was Marek Cygan from Poland.
