Immediately after the release of the final version of the Internet pager Windows Live Messenger 8.5, Microsoft announced the launch of a closed beta test of the next version of the messenger - 9.0, the final output of which is
scheduled for the end of 2008 or even the beginning of 2009.
Already, at least 2 years before the release, a number of new features of Windows Live Messenger 9.0 have become known.
The first and, perhaps, the most important innovation is the new spam filter - now you can report spam and never receive it again from this addressee.
The second novelty of Windows Live Messenger 9.0 is the ability to simultaneously connect to the same account from different computers - this feature is called Multiple Points of Presence Support. Now, when you simultaneously connect to the same account, even the latest available version of Windows Live Messenger, all but the last Internet pager are logged out.
