DeltaMaker - another 3D printer

In the already relatively rather big family of 3D printers, there is a replenishment again. A few days ago, another rather interesting project was presented on Kickstarter. Not the cheapest, not the most branded, but it allows you to see the whole process of creating “from the inside”.

And so in order: the printer is really not the cheapest, although it is still more affordable than some competitors ($ 1,599 versus $ 2,199 for the Replicator ). DeltaMaker uses a standard polymer thread for many 3D printers with a 1.75 mm cross section and creates layers as thick as 100 microns. Again, not the best indicator among analogs . All other characteristics practically do not differ from competitors. So what can this project like to the public?

For a start it is worth noting that half of the stated amount was collected on Kickstarter in the first 4 days.

“The very vision of 3D printing with DeltaMaker is a little different from the usual: the process of creation and the finished work can be equally interesting. We want to transfer the 3D printing from the production premises to the living rooms, to the desktops.
')
While many artists and designers create artwork on 3D printers, we want to see the creation process itself as art. We want to see an artist who will not only show the finished work, but who can present the process itself. ”

So describe the concept of the authors of the idea, it sounds inspiring. In addition, DeltaMaker has a slightly larger volume, within which printing is available (compared to some competitors).

The printer really turned out pretty stylish. The name itself comes from delta robots . DeltaMaker uses three manipulators that allow the printer head to be moved in two planes, while maintaining its spatial orientation (in the horizontal plane). As work DeltaMaker raises the print head, with all the action concluded between the three racks and fully open, so the process itself looks quite interesting, reminiscent of robotic arms , used in modern automotive plants. As a result, we can consider in detail the process of creating the subject.

In conclusion, a small video from the authors:

PS: in the very first commentary about the Replicator , the author said: “Very soon, similar printers will be at home, along with ordinary paper printers.” Perhaps this option can also become a good addition to the design, especially for those who love all kinds of moving mechanisms .
