We have become accustomed to the fact that, according to their technical characteristics, “flash drives” of different manufacturers do not differ much (if you do not take too different segments), so the choice often lies in the plane of appearance and, a little, additional features.
First on the list is Transcend's JetFlash 168 from the Chinese Garden series. By and large, the device itself is nothing special. Dimensions - 61 Ă— 18.6 Ă— 9.8 mm and weight 10 grams; interface bandwidth - 480 Mbps; Compatible with all versions of Windows (from 98th), MAC OS 9.0+ and Linux 2.4. The series includes models of 1, 2, 4 and 8 GB. The main thing in JetFlash 168 is design.
The company Ergodata Distribution, which presented these drives on the Russian market, offers several design options with Chinese symbols printed on the case. Looks at least pretty. The cost of a model of 1 GB is not so biting - only 900 rubles. 8-gigabyte JetFlash 168 will cost, however, already in 7100 rubles, which is simply prohibitively expensive.
Another new product is PNY Attache Optima. This is a truly original approach to design. It makes no sense to describe - look at the picture. Personally, I really liked it.
As for the technical characteristics, they are very high. The volume is 4 and 8 GB (price, respectively, $ 60 and $ 120), the read speed is 25 MB / s, the recording is 10 MB / s. As a bonus, Carry It Easy comes with Attache Optima, protecting files with AES encryption with a 128-bit key.
