Today, Canonical has
launched a new collaborative software development service for Ubuntu to provide developers with a single place to develop desktop, server, and mobile applications.
In a statement, Canonical announced that the new
Launchpad Personal Package Archive (PPA) service, which has just gone out of beta testing, has been added to the existing Launchpad developer site to allow teams to work together on packages, as well as to enable developers singles publish their open source versions.
Each developer who becomes a PPA user gets into his own hands 1GB of free space on the server to download his open-source packages there so that other participants can help in their development.
