Cortex Command is one of those games where the plot and the meaning is not so important. Much more important is the process itself. Cortex Command is a combination of strategy and arcade platformer. An unusual combination. In the beginning, the player builds his base or bunker (in which the bank with brains is kept) and places his soldiers, robots, mines around the bunker, lays out weapons and prepares the landing party. The opponent does the same. Then the battle begins, the goal of which is to get to the enemy’s bunker and you know.



However, the most interesting feature of the game is Pixel Physics. She is well known to us in such games as "Tank Wars", "Scorched Earth", "Worms". But here technology has reached a new level. First, the materials appeared. Each object has a different density and consists of many parts. During the game, you can "disassemble" it with the help of a good arsenal, offered in the built-in store. Secondly, the dynamics are significantly improved. The landing bot very realistically crashes into the ground or burns everything in its path with a jet stream. The big gun carries the enemy soldiers to the pixels so that only the helmets fly off. All in all, quite fun.



Unfortunately, for now you can download the test version, which has only the “Skirmish” mode. The authors plan to release the game in the near future, and the basic version will be free, but access to the most interesting pieces will be for money.



An interesting fact: in their official blog, the developers write that they spent 7 years creating this game.
