We continue to sum up the results of the international consumer electronics exhibition CES 2013, which was held January 8-11 in the city of Las Vegas, USA. Today, our focus is on the two latest models of the Samsung high-performance notebook line: the Series 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra.
Notebook Series 7 Chronos
The new Series 7 Chronos notebook is a powerful workhorse, suitable for both daily activities and entertainment, as well as for professional activities that require good performance. Contrary to the interpretation of the concept of "workhorse", this laptop is enclosed in a nice looking thin aluminum body - only 20.9 mm.
Inside the laptop is equipped with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 3635QM processor, an AMD Radeon HD 8870M graphics adapter with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory (PowerExpress), RAM (4 or 8 GB, but can be expanded up to 16 GB) and a hard disk with a capacity of up to 1 TB Screen size - 15.6 inches, resolution - 1920x1080 (Full HD), and its brightness is 300 nits. Touch screen, supports 10-finger multitouch.
There are 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, HP / MIC, VGA and an RJ 45 network connector (three-in-one). The laptop battery promises up to 11.5 hours of battery life. The boot speed of the laptop after switching on is twelve seconds. To get out of sleep mode, Chronos will take two seconds. Windows 8 is pre-installed on the laptop.

Notebook Series 7 Ultra
Like its predecessors, the new Series 7 Ultra notebook has a sophisticated and minimalist design enclosed in an aluminum case. It will definitely seem a very “friendly” potential companion on the road, weighing 1.65 kg (and the model without a touchscreen is even lighter — just 1.46 kg) and only 18.9 mm thick.
Despite the small thickness of the device, Samsung’s engineers were able to place a USB 3.0 port, a pair of USB 2.0, HDMI, mini VGA, HP / MIC ports and an RJ 45 network connector (three-in-one) into it. The screen is a 13.3-inch 10-finger multi-touch in Full HD resolution. The laptop will be available in two options: with an Intel Core i7 or Core i5 ULV processor. AMD HD8570M (with 1 GB of GDDR3 video memory) is responsible for graphics cases, and up to 16 GB of RAM is responsible for speed.
Also in the equipment of the laptop includes a solid-state drive (up to 256 GB). The battery promises to live up to 8 hours offline, and the laptop starts in just 6 seconds. The pre-installed OS is all the same Windows 8.
