Usability Challenge: Form Processing in Desktop Application

Task: In order to proceed to the next step of filling out a form in a software program, a person needs to enter a number.

Since I mainly dealt with interfaces on the web, and in software novice, I decided to consult with you and offer two options for solving the problem. Please write which one is correct, why you think so, or suggest your own version.
