Announcement of the school of functional programming in the framework of DevCon 2013

Dear software developers and developers! On behalf of the DevCon 2013 conference team, I am pleased to announce the holding of the “ School of Functional Programming ” at the conference.

Not familiar with functional programming, but always wanted to gain knowledge? Familiar, but want to deepen knowledge? Do you know well and you are interested in hardcore? A school of functional programming will be held for you at the conference, within which the best experts of the country will give a series of lectures on functional programming from the very beginning to deeper methods and techniques.

School goal

Introduce conference participants to the functional programming paradigm and functional programming languages ​​(F #, Haskell, and others), to show the ease of use of the AF languages ​​to solve practical problems in the field of parallel, asynchronous, cloud and web programming and work with large volumes of distributed data.

Within the School of Functional Programming, conference participants will be able to:

• Become familiar with the functional programming paradigm and understand how you can program “differently”, without variables, assignment operator and side effects
• Evaluate the benefits of programming languages ​​(F #, Haskell, and others) for solving parallel, asynchronous, cloud and web programming tasks and for processing large distributed data
• Talk about a developed typing system in functional languages ​​and about using a functional approach in C # programming

Leading schools have taught functional programming courses at leading Russian universities, and they are ready to teach you the most important things in a few hours.

Those who successfully pass the final exam will receive distinctive marks on graduation and the opportunity to participate in the final tea ceremony.

School Lecturers

Dmitry Soshnikov, Ph.D., Technological Evangelist of Microsoft Russia, Associate Professor at the Department of Development Management at the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the Department of Computational Mathematics and Programming at the MAI, taught courses on Functional and Logic Programming at the MAI, MFTI, HSE and the Internet INTUIT University, a member of the F # Software Association (FSSF), the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence (RAII). Author of the book Functional programming on F # .

Roman Dushkin, the founder of the Foundation for the Support of Functional Programming of the OP (OP), the author of numerous books on the Haskell language, taught a course on functional programming at the Department of Cybernetics MEPhI.
