$ 10,000 - student fine for defamation in the Lida forum

A year ago, at the height of the struggle for deputies of local authorities in Belarus, a letter appeared in one of the regional forums with disgraceful accusations against a photo artist. The letter became the object of judicial review, it appeared on the lida.info forum in December 2006. The site administrator, a student from Minsk, offered the residents of Lida an anonymous letter under the heading “Cruel games of the Lida“ politicians ”, which“ came to our mail, and not only to us ”. The photographer asked the court to oblige the student to refute the posted information and pay him about 10 thousand dollars in monetary compensation for moral harm.
