On the horizon, it seems to form problems for Google. Consumers on the world's largest mobile phone market prefer to choose Android smartphones not from leading manufacturers, but no-name devices with Google cut out services. This is
evidenced by Enders analyst Ben Evans, quoted by
The Register .
This conclusion is based on Baidu mobile traffic data for the first 9 months of 2012. As can be seen, the data consumed by the leading brands decreased, while the “Other” devices doubled from 20 to 39%.

So who are these “Other” smartphones? Evans explains that there are now more than 1,000 manufacturers selling devices on Android in China. Some are even sold by “backpackers” (backpackmen) who go from village to village and sell devices without a tariff plan, some of which are fakes of Western brands, and some are produced by unknown manufacturers that we have never heard of.
And the interesting thing is that many of them do not work with Google. All the functionality that is responsible for communicating with Google is simply missing.
"Google does not receive any information from these devices - it does not know the location or type of the device, the type of information that it uses to improve the search," writes the analyst.
I must say that Android is actually quite a costly event for Google. The company is responsible for all developments in the mobile OS and, of course, earns on advertising, services and applications. In addition, Google, as the owner, is responsible for all lawsuits related to the system.
What happens if the largest market in the world works bypassing Google is a good and proper question, and judging by the data, this is what goes. Recall how Amazon took Android, said “thank you very much” Google ... and made its own version of the OS, with its own
blackjack store and content. What will happen if, following the Chinese and Amazon, Samsung will make its own fork? Google is unlikely to give up support for Android, it cannot live without a mobile OS, but the picture in the mobile industry will then be completely different.
