When producing new smartphones, manufacturers often forget about the most important thing - a good battery. Yes, 4 cores, a big screen, ultra-thin design is good. But do not live out until the evening on one charge? That's too much!
Is there a good compromise at the moment? So that the performance is good, and the screen, and the battery. And while the phone did not look like a brick?
Yes there is!
Lenovo has released its new smartphone called the Lenovo P770. Two cores, a good screen, 2 sim cards, a 3500 mAh battery. What about the price…
Interesting? Then read on!

At first glance, the characteristics of an ordinary Chinese smartphone: 2 SIM cards, MTK6577 chip, 4.5 "screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels. But there are some differences, namely: OTG support and a 3500 mAh battery.
Equipment
The smartphone comes in a solid cardboard box with the inscription "ideaphone P770":

')
Inside there is a compartment for the phone, and under it is a compartment for accessories:

Of the accessories are: USB-cable, OTG-cable, headset, charger with an adapter.
Full set:

Appearance
Lenovo P770 has a nice round shape, no sharp edges:

Front bottom are the touch control buttons "Menu", "Home", "Back":

0.3MP front camera, light sensor, proximity sensor:

Volume rocker:

Power button, USB input, 3.5mm headphone input:

It may seem that the placement of the USB input from the top is not the best solution, but in fact you get used to it over time and do not experience this discomfort.
The back cover is plastic and ... yes, absolutely glossy:

Without a protective silicone bumper is indispensable. I got a silicone bumper, which also turned out to be glossy (no luck!), But at least it protects the back cover from the inevitable scratches.

Rear 5MP camera with flash:

Below is a speakerphone and a small slot, for easy opening of the back cover:

Under the back cover are: 2 SIM-card slots for work in GSM / WCDMA networks, microSD memory card slot, battery:

2 sim cards work in standby mode.

The battery is not simple, but with a capacity of 3500 mAh!
Compare the size of the 2000mAh battery from the Samsung E2370 and 3500mAh from Lenovo P770:

Thinner:

But wider:

The weight of the 3500 mAh battery was 60 grams, the weight of the 2000 mAh battery was 43 grams.
It is incorrect to compare the time of auto work of E2370 and P770, since E2370 is a regular phone. And it also has its advantages - with it you can spend a month without recharging.
But back to the subject of the review.
Despite such an impressive battery, the Lenovo P770 does not look thick at all and is comfortable in the hand:

The total weight of the smartphone with the battery is 161 grams.
Compared to the Samsung E2370, our review hero looks thin:

Screen
The Lenovo P770 is equipped with a 4.5 "IPS screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels.
Good color reproduction:

And viewing angles:

The only thing that spoils the impression of the screen a little is the low maximum brightness. On a sunny day it is difficult to see something on the screen.
Performance
The smartphone has an overclocked version of the well-known Mediatek MT6577 chip. The frequency of the dual-core Cortex-A9 processor is raised from 1 GHz to 1.2 GHz, the GPU remains the same - PowerVR SGX 531. The RAM is 1 GB, constant - 4 GB.
Let's look at the results of synthetic tests:
Antutu 3.1.1:

Quadrant 2.1.1:

Of the sensors present: light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer.
Linpack CPU Test:

Vellamo - HTML 5 processing test:

Nenamark 2 - graphics performance test:

Can these results be considered good?
It all depends on the needs. Yes, for powerful 3D games, GPU PowerVR SGX531 is not the best option. Yes, someone will say 1GB - this is not enough for multitasking. But personally, I think the architecture of the MTK6577 is well balanced. 2 sim cards, 2 cores, 1GB of RAM - a good set for an everyday phone.
Wifi
Without obstacles, the signal level is good, with each additional obstacle in the form of a wall, the level begins to fall:

GPS
When the GPS was first launched, the phone stubbornly refused to see the satellites. I had to turn on A-GPS. With subsequent launches, the GPS started quickly and without additional help.

OTG
By connecting the
tail OTG-cable, we can connect various USB-devices. For example, a flash drive:

The device is mounted as an external memory card:

Another useful feature is recharging other devices. For example, you can recharge "big brother"
Ramos W41 :

With a battery capacity of 3500 mAh, this is undoubtedly a very useful feature. You can "save" not one gluttonous smartphone neighbor.
Camera
The front 0.3MP camera is not worth much attention, so let's see what the rear 5MP camera is capable of.
With good lighting, the pictures are quite good:

On the street on a sunny day, at first glance, the quality (as for a mobile camera) is not bad, but the colors are not very natural:

The quality of the images of the P770 camera is inferior to many cameras that are installed in Chinese phones.
Video
Video playback in formats up to 720p is supported:

Games
As mentioned above, PowerVR SGX531 is not the best solution for gamers. But you can still play arcade games:

And in some 3D games:

Working hours
Energy Smart is monitoring the charge level.
You can apply 5 different profiles:
- Waiting (only calls and SMS)
- Economical (calls, sms and 3G)
- Alarm clock (all link disabled)
- Normal (calls, sms, 3G, GPS)
- Custom

Analyze the charge rate and set up automatic switching between profiles:

Let's try to figure out how much "Chinese" are the claimed 3500 mAh.
Let's start with the battery test Antutu Tester:

Lenovo P770 is the absolute leader in the ranking with 1257 points.
The built-in utility Energy Smart gives the following assumptions on the operating time:

The actual running time when watching a video (720x400), 100% brightness, sound through headphones, the “Normal” power saving profile, Wifi is off, was 10 hours and 32 minutes. So one can consider the assumptions about the operating time of the Energy Smart utility to be quite reliable.
With an average load, the smartphone can work for about 3 days.

Total, for a reasonable price, we get a great phone, with good performance and design. And you don't have to carry a charger with you every day.
Price
Lenovo P770 will be officially sold in Russia starting in March. According to
this information, the price will be
11,990 rubles .
The official launch of Lenovo P770 sales in Ukraine is also expected.
The price in China at the time of this review is
~ $ 245 , which is about $ 150 cheaper than the estimated cost in Russia. It should not be forgotten that the price of $ 240 already includes the cost of delivery, and even paying $ 30 for the delivery of EMS you can save more than $ 100. But when buying in China, there is a minus - the lack of a "guarantee". More precisely, not a complete absence, but a nuance to use - in case of a breakdown, you will need to send the phone back at your own expense (~ $ 15), then wait a while until it is repaired and sent back. This kind of warranty is valid for 1 year.
Let's roughly calculate how much a smartphone costs when buying directly from the factory. The price of $ 227 includes: ~ $ 15 shipping cost + ~ $ 10 profit of the seller + $ 12 commission of the trading platform. Total: $ 227- $ 37 = $ 190. But this price also includes the profit of the intermediary, since the Lenovo plant does not ship the products directly to the sellers.
It turns out that after getting from China to Russia, the phone becomes more than 2 times more expensive. Not bad, right?
