Today, Yandex has published a sad, at least for me, news . Briefly, the essence of the news is as follows: before the People could upload an unlimited number of files via the web, and up to 5 GB in size. Now you can upload only 2 GB files via the web, and in order to upload a 5 GB file, you need to install the Disk to your device. Now the space for storing files is strictly limited and initially amounts to 5 GB, after installing the Disk on any device, and uploading any file, the space will increase to 10 GB, and if you share your left email with friends, share up to 20 GB. This is the maximum amount of free space available, i.e. 20 GB. The most annoying thing is that you cannot increase the place even for money, although Yandex says that it will be possible in the future.

UPD1: kibergus clarifies that you can not install the Disk, but rather use the service via WebDAV, which in turn is available from the box on Linux, Windows XP +, and others. OS.

UPD4: Noospheratu corrected me, the following phrase is no longer relevant for mobile platforms, but the Windows client still does not have partial synchronization. Up to a heap in the Disk there is no partial synchronization, i.e. All files you have to store locally. In essence, this means that it is impossible to fully use the disk on most mobile devices, and on computers, without fail, you will also have to allocate space.
