Google yesterday published a clarification about the donkey, which was noticed in the pictures of Street View in Botswana (

published evidence that the donkey was still alive.
Employees of Google Maps found several additional images and restored the chronology of events. In the first shots it can be seen that the Street View car is approaching a lying donkey on the extreme lane.

But in the next picture you can see that the unpattern is standing on the sidelines.

In the end, in the last picture, the donkey looks after the car in surprise. Obviously, he is alive.

As a working hypothesis, Google employees put forward a version that the donkey took a dust bath, as they
often do . In the Street View interface, photos
are glued together in such a way that users have the false impression that the car has moved the donkey.
On January 14, an animal lying on the road noticed a certain “real Sheldon Cooper”, who
posted a link on his twitter to 149 thousand followers. In social media, there was such a wave that Google had to investigate.
