iRidium mobile is a Russian software developer for smart homes from Nizhny Tagil. The software produced by the company is in demand by developers of smart home projects, helping to solve problems for thousands of integrator companies around the world. So, thinking about what should be the first post in the company's blog at Geektimes, we decided that the best would be about the company to tell its projects. Therefore, in this post we will present the most interesting projects in which iRidium mobile software was used.

Rabobank is one of the largest international financial institutions hailing from the Netherlands.

The local integrator was faced with a large-scale task of fully integrating the 4 systems that control the lighting of the building and the workplaces of 180 employees, screens and curtains, control of heating and multimedia systems: KNX, Helvar, Modbus and Crestron. This was done through iRidium mobile software with a Full Site license, which allows you to manage all protocols. All this functionality is controlled from several Touch PCs. Thus, different people on different floors can manage the entire installation. Also on the Touch PC displays notifications of emergency situations in MIVA toilets for people with disabilities.
The difficulty was to create a bridge between KNX and Helvar. Usually a special device is used for this. But in this project, a bridge was made on iRidium Script. The entire Helvar installation can be controlled from the KNX Touchscreens (Zennio Z38i) located in the meeting rooms and using the KNX switches located in the corridors.

An ordinary room, which with the help of automation can change its purpose - living room, dining room, study, etc. Designers of the project have developed five scenarios: “Cinema”, “Disco”, “Work”, “Feast”, “Mix” - for which work it is necessary to hide elements unnecessary for the chosen scenario. To do this, they used:
- control of 16 panel curtains from the ceiling to the floor. The curtains are fixed on 4 eaves and move only horizontally;
- control of LED lights on the ceiling: on / off, change in brightness, change in color;
- control of the projector, media player, acoustic system.
All this is controlled from the tablet Acer Iconia Tab A501 and two built-in panels.

Each Rolling Stone magazine builds or repairs a building in different parts of the United States, after which they are given the name House of Rock. Interior design is always done by the best designers of the country. During the year, promotional events take place in the house and famous artists live. Outside the building is a stage, inside - a recording studio.

IRidium solutions are also used in controlling the light, air conditioning, sound and pool in the
Los Angeles "House of Rock" .

Burj Khalifa - project on iRidium, apartments in Dubai, UAE
Choosing iRidium, the integrator company Bond Communications Group studied other applications on the market. The choice in favor of iRidium was made because this solution is easier to configure, more stable, and offers more flexible functionality (for example, support for the closed ICSP protocol, which was implemented specifically at the request of the integrator.

Iridium solutions are also applied at industrial sites. One of them is oil storage. IRidium software is used as a mobile SCADA for production accounting systems in tank farms Tank Gauging to control the level of oil products in tanks, weight, product temperature and density. This data is displayed on the screen of a mobile device through communication of the iRidium software with the TankVision controller via the Modbus TCP protocol.

Accounting in reservoir parks is not the only possible application of iRidium in such projects. In general, its capabilities make it possible to obtain information and control (if such a function is available) any field devices, such as a pressure sensor, temperature, flow rate, as well as valves, pumps, etc.
Although mobile devices are not yet common enough for industrial applications, such solutions can already be used to monitor the current state of important process parameters and alerts about critical events, as well as to demonstrate the capabilities of an accounting system or individual measuring instruments in tank farms.

Endress + HauserControl Center at Son San Juan Airport
Similar tasks iRidium software solves at the Spanish Son San Juan Airport on the island of Mallorca. The iRidium solution made it possible to provide remote access to the unified management system from the “ipads” of the authorities (to control the workload of the schedule, the order of departures, etc.).
