On Monday, the press service of the Eldorado retail chain reported (see, for example,
here ) about the opening of the
Ukrainian version of its online store, which is similar in functionality to its Russian “
elder brother ”, which began its work last year. Interest in the event was fueled by the amount of the cost of the store, which amounted to $ 150 thousand. Moreover, it was not the amount itself that aroused more interest (quite impressive!), But the fact that it became known to the public, despite the usual practice of the company, not to disclose such information. Well, perhaps it was a miscalculation of someone from the Kiev press service, but for us this is a chance to imagine a little better how much it costs to create a project of such magnitude.
Hoping that by taking one step towards the openness of budgets, the company will take a couple more, we decided to talk about this with an employee of its Internet sales department. Which, quite expectedly, from answers to questions left. However, from other sources, we learned that the QSOFT developer company received only $ 35 thousand for the development of the turnkey website itself.
How much of the remaining $ 115 thousand was spent on the technical base, and how much on the "organizational costs" remains a mystery. While filling the database with content (photos and descriptions of goods), the existing rich database of the Russian store was hardly used, and the call center and warehouses for the store were hardly created from scratch, instead of a small outfitting of those already working with “ offline stores. Interesting, isn't it?
