Announced a prize of? 50,000 for the best compression Wikipedia

The developers of archiver programs have a chance to earn money, provided that their program sets a new text compression record.

The contest conditions were formulated by Prof. Markus Hattler , a famous German scientist, an expert in artificial intelligence and data compression. Markus Hattler is sure that maximum lossless compression is one of the hallmarks of artificial intelligence.

To qualify for the Hattler prize, you need to beat the existing record of compressing a hundred megabyte text file (here is the archive of this file ) to a self-extracting archive under Linux or Windows. The record is 18.324.887 bytes and set on March 24, 2006 by the paq8f archiver. The 100 MB file is a sample of English texts from Wikipedia.

The reward is equal to? 50000 * ( 1-S / L), where L is the size of the previous record, and S is the new record. The minimum amount of remuneration is 500, that is, you need to beat the record by at least one percent.
