Firefox share increased to 13.71%

According to Janco Associates, the Firefox browser in July 2006 increased its presence on the Internet to 13.71%. Thus, a new record of popularity of a free browser has been set, although this year the growth rates are much lower than last year’s one ( graph ).

On the other hand, Internet Explorer is gradually losing the market. In July 2006, its share fell to the minimum 75.88%, whereas in January 2006 it was 77.01%, and in July 2005 - 84.05%. The maximum popularity of IE was registered back in January 2003 at 92.39%.

According to experts, the IE browser will be able to partially restore its position after the release of Internet Explorer 7. As is known, this program will be distributed through the automatic update system of Windows.
