Yandex follows standards better than Google, Yahoo and Windows Live

Good Google Alerts. Once upon a time I signed up for the word Yandex and since then, they send me messages when they publish something about our most popular search engine in the Western press.

Today I received an alert about an interesting article on the Design Oahu blog. Unfortunately, the blog does not mention the name of the author, so I limit myself to the link.

The author of this blog has analyzed the 50 most traffic-generating sites in the world according to Alexa for compliance of the main pages with the HTML or XHTML standard.

The results were not encouraging. Only 5 of the 50 sites correspond to the standard. All others contain errors.



Among the 5 "well done" and our Yandex. The remaining four are: MSN, Wikipedia, Skyrocket, Craigslist.

I was surprised to see how many in the list of Google'ov. I was even more surprised to see Mail .ru on the 22nd place.
