Qualification requirements
In 2013, Mars One begins searching and selecting the best candidates to become members of the first mission to Mars in 2023. On Mars, their main responsibility will be to ensure that everything and everyone works as they should. That will be a very difficult task for the pioneers. They must have the skills and abilities that will help solve any problem - some of which may be completely unpredictable. The set of skills of each team member should cover a very wide range of disciplines. Astronauts should be smart, creative, psychologically sustainable and physically healthy. Below we offer a brief introduction to the basics of our astronaut selection process.

In the field of space flight, the main features of every good astronaut are emotional and psychological stability, as well as personal motivation. On the basis of this basis, the future of the mission is based, in which human life is under constant threat.
After arriving on Mars there is no way back and Mars will become the only home. Purposefulness will help each cosmonaut to maintain psychological stability and focus on working as a team for the benefit of a common and better future.
We cannot overestimate the importance of the self-examination ability of potential applicants. Without this component, all five key characteristics listed below cannot be fully utilized.

Curiosity- You ask questions to understand, not just get answers.

Age
The age range is limited. Although the upper bounds are not yet precisely defined, the lower age limit is 18 years. By the time of landing, this person will already be 28
Country of origin and language
Mars One accepts applications from people from anywhere in the world. All information will be available in multiple languages. The official language is English. However, when a candidate will apply for a selection program, a good knowledge of English is not necessary: we will provide candidates with documentation in various languages. As the selection process progresses, the requirements for knowledge of the English language will increase.
The selection program will begin in the first half of 2013.
