Samsung has introduced a working device with a flexible display.

The South Korean corporation has already presented its flexible displays to the world for quite a long time, however, without being tied to a specific device. Recently, the company showed the first working mobile phone (noname), with a flexible display. True, if you expect that the phone can be folded several times and stuffed into a wallet, then these hopes are in vain. The flexible display was only enough to bend its edges on the phone.

Actually, this can be considered an achievement, since the display, as far as can be judged, is of sufficient quality. According to the developers, such a bend, in theory, can be used to read notifications and text messages if the phone is covered with a cover. In general, it is interesting, but not very practical yet.

The presented device is rather a photo frame than a telephone, since there is no radio module, OS, camera or other functions specific to a mobile device. Perhaps in the near future, Samsung will demonstrate a more practical concept.

Nevertheless, the emergence of the working concept pleases - after all, we can expect the appearance of smartphones / tablets with displays that do not break when dropped. I would very much like to hope that such devices will appear this year.
