The Shanghai branch, which will begin work next year, will become Google’s third R & D center in China. At the moment, experts are choosing the right place for its location,
according to the Chinese press, with reference to Kaifu Lee, head of the local office of the American corporation.
The staff of the new branch is still unknown. A total of about one hundred people work in two R & D centers in Beijing and Taipei.
Google seeks to increase its presence in the Middle Kingdom in all directions. In particular, by the end of the year it is planned to increase from 12 to 30 the number of Chinese partner sites in the Google content network.
