From CES 2013 and experts, and just lovers of gadgets and technologies expect a lot. And indeed, at this exhibition such technologies and devices, which until recently were considered science fiction, are often announced. In general, CES 2013 has begun to meet expectations, it has practically not begun yet. For example, the company Nvidia introduced the Tegra 4 platform, having made it on the “zero day” of the exhibition. You may think that this platform will soon be transferred to new models of mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones.
According to Nvidia, Tegra 4 is the most productive SoC chip at the moment. ')
As previously reported, Tegra 4 works with the four main ARM Cortex A15 cores, plus an auxiliary core. The auxiliary core works in cases when the device is used to a minimum, without “heavy” applications, HD video, etc.
Among other things, 72 graphic cores are also used, which also significantly increase the overall performance of the platform.
For comparison with other platforms, representatives of Nvidia conducted a test on loading web pages (a specific type of content). The device based on Tegra 4 loaded pages twice as fast as devices from other manufacturers (for example, Google Nexus 10). According to Nvidia, Tegra 4 is about twice as productive as Tegra 3.
Among other things, Nvidia has demonstrated a new technology in the field of HDR photographs. So, a device based on Tegra 4 gets more than one photo after another, then combining images. No, at the same time two shots are taken, which as a result allows you to get HDR photos in just 0.1 seconds (instead of 2 seconds). If HDR is enabled, the device from Nvidia will receive HDR images in any application that uses the camera.
Tegra 4 is the first Nvidia chip with an integrated 4G LTE module.
