Unusual flash drive from Apacer

The company Apacer has released an unusual flash drive. More precisely, the drive itself is quite ordinary, but its additional functionality is not quite normal. Handy Steno AH225 can (besides storing data) serve as a small stand for storing business cards or as a magnet with which you can attach paper notes with “reminders”. For such an approach to design, Apacer, by the way, received the Japanese G-Mark Award 2007 award.

The device dimensions are 54.9 × 26 (in the widest place) × 10 mm and weighs 13 grams. Apacer plans to release Handy Steno AH225 in several versions: 512 MB, 1, 2 and 4 GB. The new product will be compatible with Windows 98 / 98SE / ME / XP / 2000 / Vista, Mac OS 8.6 and Linux 2.4.0+. In addition, the device will be supplied with the proprietary software Apacer Compression Explorer (ACE). This set of programs, according to the manufacturer, allows you to protect stored files with a password, and also virtually increases the capacity of the drive almost five times due to compression of the recorded information.

Data on the time of the sale and the cost of the device Apacer does not yet provide.
