Open webOS ported to Nexus 7

It has been about a year and a half since HP abandoned the production of webOS-based smartphones and tablets. True, this OS is not dead, it is supported "afloat" by enthusiasts and some companies, since HP made webOS an open system. Previously, enthusiasts showed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Asus Transformer Pad with a ported webOS, but these projects were not particularly modified. Now webOS ported to Nexus 7, and here everything looks much better.

In fact, it is already possible to work on such a tablet, although there are still a couple of shortcomings (including the speed of the system). Here is a demonstration video of a ported Open webOS:

It is worth recalling that the Nexus 7 is a powerful enough tablet with a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and a 7-inch display (native resolution is 1280 * 800).

On the video, some "lags" are noticeable when the system is running. However, the browser works fine, the virtual keyboard also works without problems. Yes, and multitasking is supported, in this regard, too, everything is fine.

So far, the installation of webOS does not have much practical meaning. The same Android is much more stable at the moment, and there are a lot of Android applications. But it may well be that teams working with Open webOS will be able to create a worthy competitor, and webOS will become an alternative OS for mobile devices and tablets.
