Never congratulate your users on their birthday!

Last Saturday, I celebrated my birthday and once again observed the sad result of the work of some web programmers. In my mailbox I found 27 letters from various portals and forums with congratulations. Moreover, many congratulations differed only by the address of the sender, my registration nickname and the name of the forum (hello phpBB !!!). Yandex also did not stand aside and sent a greeting card.
Was it nice to get all these messages? - Not! All this was immediately attributed to spam and removed from the box.

I have a positive attitude to the indication of the date of my birth in the registration forms. Especially if this information can be viewed by other users of this portal or forum, and I can view them. In many cases, this allows you to avoid the start of useless discussions or pick convincing arguments for the age category. Agree that a person in 20 years perceives this world somewhat differently than 30 or 40. There are, of course, rare individuals who, even in 30 years, did not get rid of youthful maximalism, but they are not about them.

Why use valuable server resources to work absolutely useless and annoying services? If you are developing a project yourself, then do not waste your time on baubles, which place in the last century. If you use something ready, then turn off this disgrace or do not put any additional scripts.

Take the example of " My Circle " - he does not send a bot-card, but he reminds your friends that soon man will have a birthday and it would be nice to congratulate him.
