New Year's Battle of Santa Claus and Santa Claus, as well as a couple of words about Golang
Back in the run-up to last year, I had one crazy idea: New Year's Battle of Santa Claus and Santa Claus, but the will of the project could not be started, although the domain was purchased, and the project was almost ready. A year has passed, a little bit of free time appeared and I decided to bring the site to my mind and let it float freely.
The site is a simple vote through social networks. I think more about him is not what. Please do not kick for the design, I didn’t have enough for more.
Last year I wrote this project on node.js (express) and Redis, and in this I decided to rewrite all this stuff (although the code is generally there at least) to go (revel framework), and decided to use a simple file with json, because there are only two applicants, but there will most likely not be any new ones.
In general, go impressed me. But apparently it is not very popular yet (although it was the language of 2009 according to some resource version) and most of the projects on github are abandoned. It is understandable - the authors alone cannot drag a loop for a long time, and judging by the stars there are not so many users (it’s not a fact that the author himself uses what he writes :)).

Although there are some positive things, ORM hood has recently appeared and a new go-start framework, which seems to be used in a real project, which gives hope for a bright future.
On this perhaps the flow of my thoughts dries up. Good luck to everyone in the coming year, success for all 200% and more interesting projects at work.
