The company Seiko Epson presented its prototype e-book. When creating this device, Epson's own development was used - a thin-film screen based on low-temperature polycrystalline silicon.
The device has dimensions of 180 × 120 mm, thickness of only 3 mm and weight 57 grams. The resolution of the black and white 6.7-inch screen of the e-book is 1280 × 1600 pixels. Screen refresh rate - 0.7 seconds. The battery used in the prototype is enough to redraw more than 1,400 pages.
Perhaps the new Epson product will become a worthy competitor to the already proven Sony PRS-505 eBook . But, unfortunately, information about the timing of the device on sale and its estimated value yet.
