Google offers a set of API functions for migrating from Microsoft products.

Not so long ago, Google released a tool designed for administrators to migrate from third-party IMAP-mailers to Google Apps without losing user correspondence. With this solution, more than 100 million messages were translated, but it was not ideal, as mail services without IMAP were left aside.

Today, Google introduced the Google Apps Email Migration API feature set to transfer any mailboxes (and not just IMAP, as before) to any of the three existing Google Apps versions: Premier, Education or Partner. This set will be useful to those who postponed migration due to their security policy.

A growing number of partners are now offering useful and affordable migration solutions for organizations wishing to upgrade to Google Apps. For example, using the Email Migration API, LimitNone created a tool called gMOVE , which allows you to move contacts, calendars and mail from Microsoft Outlook to Google Apps. This and other extensions can be found in Solutions Gallery - a library of ready-made solutions.
