Today I killed more than half a day on my computers (I have two of them). Cleaned up viruses, deleted all unnecessary programs and files, in general, put things in order. In addition, on the second machine, Windows was rearranged, a set of necessary software was installed and configured. Upon completion of these works, I experienced a wonderful feeling (this happens when I enter the room after general cleaning) - I load the computer, and so clean and tidy, nothing superfluous.
When in the evening in ICQ I told a familiar girl what I had been doing all day, I had difficulty choosing simple and understandable words. Say what you like, and women in the mass are far from computers. Here you can recall the numerous anektody about programmers and their wives. One of my favorite. A friend asks the programmer’s wife: “How did he care for you?” - “The computer showed ...”
Perhaps this is what happens. A programmer lives in his own world. When you marry a programmer, you need to be prepared for the fact that he will spend evenings and weekends in the computer company, and speak in an incomprehensible language. What can I say? Learn languages, girls. Programming languages, of course.

I was on the other side of the barricades. I love to remember the time when, while studying at the institute, I wanted to become a programmer. I remember how avidly I wrote programs at night (it worked surprisingly well at night), I remember the state of euphoria, when the Program turned out in the end. I still understand the specific humor of programmers and read
Bash .
This is
where the issues of family life of computer specialists
are discussed, but unfortunately there is no clear answer - is it worth marrying a computer programmer?
I would go out. I understand programmers well and generally love male techies. They can do everything with their own hands: screw the light bulb, adjust the mail program, fix the lock on the handbag. In any case, from today's fuss with computers, I would have been spared :).
