MTS launches branded smartphone with support for NFC-payments
MTS released the first in its line of branded gadgets smartphone with NFC support and contactless payments.
This model was the first carrier NFC-smartphone that can be used for contactless payments without thinking about additional devices. At the same time, MTS 965 is not among the most advanced smartphones in terms of technical characteristics:

To use NFC technology, the owner is offered to change his SIM card to a special one from MTS, which will ensure the passage of NFC payments. This SIM-card will be emulated MasterCard MTS-Bank credit card. Payment using such a card will be free of charge worldwide. The bank does not plan to take payments for card servicing either. If you have a compatible with the wireless payment technology Master Card Pay Pass payment terminal, you will only need to bring a smartphone in order to pay. If the transaction amount is up to 1 thousand rubles, authorization of the bank card holder will not be required; for more expensive purchases, you will need to enter the PIN code issued by the bank.
According to MTS, contactless payment services have a good potential, and for the next five years, the currently absent domestic market for NFC payments may increase to 50 billion rubles a year.
