Twitter users can now download an archive of their messages.

Some fans of the Twitter microblogging service have already sent many thousands (some even tens of thousands) of messages. However, some would like to have an archive of such messages on their PC / laptop, but until the last moment there was simply no such function in the service. Well, now appeared. So far, a new feature that allows you to download all your tweets, appeared in a small group of users . If testing shows that everything is fine, the function will be added to everyone.

In general, when introducing new features, almost all Internet services first test a new product for a limited number of users, and then transfer the update to everyone.

Downloading the archive of your messages is organized quite conveniently. When a download request is requested, the service archives all tweets, and the download link comes to the user's email (in a zip archive). The archive contains the main HTML-file, running which, you can view all your messages, from first to last.

Back in July, Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo announced the introduction of a new feature soon. Then it was said that the novelty will appear before the end of 2012. Apparently, the developers kept their promise.
