Does Google read its own conventions?

I actively use a variety of Google services. Periodically, I am invited to accept a new agreement. And now, I have not had access to my applications in the Google App Engine for several days, because I can’t agree with the agreement.

But let's start a little from afar. This is how the previous agreement began:

The whole agreement was affected (not the only one) by the disease: single quotes looked strange.

It is curious that Google obviously noticed the problem and made a noticeable effort in dealing with the single quote. Almost everywhere, the victory for Google, but the insidious quotes do not give up. In the new agreement, it looks like this:



The Bermuda Triangle remained (!!!) impregnable and survived without prejudice to the new version of the agreement.

I have already raised my hand several times to agree with this mud, but every time I am haunted by the feeling that with this agreement Google tells me: “You are a cretin and sign anything.” And I, once again, take the mouse away.

And further. I understand. Talented engineers leave the company . Periodically there are massive closure of services. Lost free parts of services . Flagship products are buggy ... But just to see with my eyes what they publish for the general forced (!) Acquaintance? .. No? .. Does the Company have no resources to do this? No person responsible for user agreements? Is there a person, but there is no way to make it work? How can you trust such a company critical data? How can any personal plans, prospects, and developments be associated with their names? .. I do not see the answers to these questions.

So far, I still keep all my projects in Google. A year ago, I wanted to write a great article about what I think about Google. But it seems that I used to tear off Google and write “how to live without Google”. In the meantime, we are waiting, will Google be able to defeat the template engine and the single quote in the eighth edition of the document?

PS And if you still talk about this agreement seriously, then I have not noticed a big change. A lot of cosmetics (numbers written in words, etc.). And from the essential: new items 4.6 and 4.7 appeared (by the way, they forgot the underlining there; not a paragraph without a jamb). Google makes a nod to copyright holders. Although, frankly, I did not read very carefully. I can’t force myself to believe that this text was read in Google.

UPD An interesting topic raised in the discussion MuLLtiQ . It turned out that in order to go through the GAE interface, you must accept one agreement, and then at GAE itself you can familiarize yourself with the agreement (which you apparently accepted) and it is different ! Awesome!

UPD2 I must say that Google App Engine easily withstood the interest of the habrasoobshchestva, in comparison with which, the usual load is just zero. The free quota has been exhausted by units of percent:





It is a pity to refuse such a service. But it seems, freebie and quality will end soon.
