Today, Skype has released a public version of Skype 3.6 for Windows, in which support for high-quality video has appeared. In other words, video calls will now take place at a resolution of 640x480 pixels at 30 frames per second, and not at a resolution of 320x240 pixels with half the frame rate as it was before.
In order to experience all the delights of high-quality free video calls, both parties must have:
Skype 3.6 for Windows;
Logitech webcam optimized and certified for capturing high quality video (this is the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 webcam, Logitech QuickCam Pro for laptops or Logitech QuickCam Sphere AF);
Dual core processor;
Broadband connection (ranging from 384kbit / s).
