Mozilla released the final release of Firefox OS Simulator 1.0
The operating system Firefox OS is getting closer to the release stage, and before the release of this OS, Mozilla announced the official release of Firefox OS Simulator 1.0. Previously released a beta version, but only now the authors of the project presented the final release of the simulator Firefox OS, intended primarily for third-party developers. According to representatives of the Firefox OS team, the simulator is needed by developers who want to write applications for the new OS now, before its appearance.
It is worth noting that Firefox OS is based on the browser-based web engine Gecko, and is written (or rather, is still being written) in HTML5. Of course, the platform of this OS is the eponymous browser that will allow you to run all sorts of web applications for work and entertainment. Below is a video demonstrating the operation of the simulator: ')
The project itself creating a new OS is supported by many large companies producing mobile devices, as well as telecom operators. Not least because the developers of Firefox OS will open all the specifications. Plus Web API will also be open.
One of the most active participants in the project is Telefonica. Moreover, such companies as Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefonica and Telenor are not standing aside. These companies are going to introduce new devices with Firefox OS on board. At the same time, manufacturers promise that such devices will be relatively inexpensive and affordable.
The development team of the new OS promises that this software platform will be optimally suited for low-end devices, since work with hardware is straightforward. The simulator itself is available here .
