Eric Schmidt: “Google Fiber is not an experiment, but a real business”

Google CEO Eric Schmidt made an interesting statement at yesterday's Dealbook conference from The New York Times. The statement concerned the current project of the company, Google Fiber, which is considered by many as an experiment, interesting, but not particularly realistic in terms of a business project. Schmidt said that in fact everything is a little different.

According to Eric Schmidt, "this is not an experiment, but a real business, and we are deciding now where to go / expand further." Unfortunately, more was not said about this, but it can be understood that what has been achieved (connecting Kansas City) the corporation will not stop. As stated earlier, other cities in the United States will be connected to the Google Fiber network, and then, if possible, countries.

And yes, Habré has already published the news that Google is planning to become a mobile operator. Negotiations are underway with Dish Networks, and the subject of negotiations is a joint project of wireless data transfer. In general, Google is negotiating not only with this company, so it’s clear that in a couple of years we can see the “Corporation of Good” in a completely new role for itself - a fixed / fiber-optic and wireless provider.

This field of activity is quite beneficial for the company, mainly because Google is trying to get rid of the restrictions of mobile operators, who are trying in every way to limit the traffic generated by Google services. As for Google Fiber, this is also one of the ways to solve the problem of data transmission restrictions on fixed lines, and the method is very effective.
