Thought-driven robotic arm

As part of the Brain2Robot project, a team of researchers has created a device that can make life easier for people with disabilities. This is a robotic control system in the form of a hand, which users can control with thought.

To translate mental instructions into machine commands, the brain-computer interface ( brain-computer interface , BCI) is used here, which appeared about 7 years ago and is continuously being improved. One of the interesting features of BCI is the ability to "tweak" the equipment for each person individually.

In general, BCI is already a fairly common gizmo. So, last year a typewriter controlled by the power of thought was created using this interface. And not so long ago BCI even screwed to the game Second Life.
