Japan is preparing standards for devices for Internet TV
The five largest Japanese corporations - Sony , Matsushita , Sharp , Toshiba , Hitachi , engaged in the production of electronics, together create new standards for devices for receiving Internet TV programs, RIA Novosti reports. According to a Sony representative, new products will be easier and more convenient to access video services and multimedia Internet resources than regular PCs. Thus, we can conclude that we are talking about technological know-how.
It is assumed that in the new devices, in order to reduce the risk of virus infection, the Linux operating system will function.
Partner corporations, specifically for new developments, have opened TV Portal Service Corp. At the same time, Sony and Matsushita own 35% of the shares of this company, the other participants - 10% each. The start of sales of equipment is scheduled for next year, but Sony has not yet officially confirmed these deadlines.
