The new Wordpress 3.5 "Alvin" saw the light

At the most wonderful time of the year, Wordpress prepared a great present for us - the new release “Alvin”, about which a lot of positive responses from bloggers and developers have already been left. This release is named after drummer Alvin Jones, who played with John Coltrane and many others.


If you have been with WordPress all this time, the most significant changes you'll notice are the completely redesigned photo upload functionality and the creation of galleries. The media section has long been a stumbling block and subject to harsh criticism from users. 3.5 also has a new theme - twenty twelve. Pure adaptive design and convenience of this theme is ideal for the basic functionality of the CMS and will satisfy the needs of many demanding users. Even in this release, Wordpress finally managed to refresh the style of the control panel. High-resolution Retina displays are now supported, and a new color picker is also present in the arsenal.

Note to the developer:
In the new version, the Underscore and Backbone JS libraries have been added.
