Valve plans to release a "living room PC for Linux"

Of course, neither the Steam output for Linux, nor the appearance of the Big Picture mode was an accident. Gabe Newell, head of Valve, said in an interview with Kotaku that the “PC for the living room” with Valve's Linux-based software will be available next year. He expects that similar PCs from different manufacturers will compete with the new generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

“I think most users and developers will understand that PCs are what they need,” says Newell. “Because they don’t have to think about different platforms and make choices.” I hope we can combine all environments in one. ”He also believes that other manufacturers will also release similar PCs for those who are not satisfied with the configuration from Valve.
