The shortest overview of the mechanical keyboard Matias Tactile Pro 4.0
Not so long ago, pre-order became available (and now, perhaps, and just an order) of the mechanical keyboard Matias Tactile Pro 4.0. I have long wanted keys with an "old" click, while mechanical keyboard, adapted for Mac OS, came across to me quite rarely. Finally, in some of the articles on Habré, I found one that I liked.
To date, the manufacturer has released the fourth edition of this device, each time correcting some annoying shoals (in particular, in older versions, the keyboard case seemed to be jarring with active typing). The keyboard is produced and maintained by a Canadian company, and they are assembled in Taiwan.
I ordered and paid for 29/11, promised to collect and send “somewhere in December”, then there was some business, then the public holiday “Birthday of the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyateta” came and nobody worked, and already 06/12 21: 00 I decided to go to the seller’s website and ask about the news: maybe they even collected it? :) ')
It turned out that the parcel was sent from the Taiwanese warehouse still 02/12, 03/12 she was in Bangkok, and on 04/12 she was brought to the local post office, where she lies, “waiting, sad”.
I got it, got it. From $ 150 cost + $ 5 for shipping (without pre-order, international delivery of EMS costs $ 15) paid 162 rubles of customs duties right on his village post.
The keyboard designer was clearly inspired by the Apple Pro keyboard (m7803, pictured):
Like. Good build quality, precise mechanical switches ...
If you have questions or need something special check / take a picture - ask.
UPD: It is noticed that when the keyboard is connected to Hakintosh before the OS is loaded, it works strangely: key presses (F12, DEL, cursor) are not detected by the computer until any key is pressed on the parallel-connected keyboard. After that, everything works.
Here is a more realistic sound of the keys, but the guy is also too loud to knock off the habit and the microphone level automatically adjusts to the quiet room:
